Some felled trees contain timber worth keeping. Our mobile sawmilling service can convert suitable stems into boards, beams and other usable sections at the site or as part of a wider tree work project.
Assessing the timber
Not every log is suitable for milling. We look at species, diameter, length, shape, decay, staining, embedded metal and access for handling equipment. We then discuss the likely yield and agree a sensible cutting plan.
Possible uses
- Boards for furniture and joinery
- Beams and structural sections where suitable
- Outdoor seating, landscape features and rustic projects
- Timber retained for drying and future use
Milling local timber can preserve the character and history of a tree while reducing the amount of material sent away from site. Drying, storage and final finishing remain important, and we can explain the next steps before the timber is cut.
